Whisky, whiskey or burbon ?
So this time of year, there always seems to be discussion on Whisky, whiskey and Burbon. We were wondering exactly what is the difference?

From Wikepedia - Whisky (Scottish Gaelic: uisge-beatha), or whiskey (Irish: uisce beatha or fuisce), refers to a broad category of alcoholic beverages that are distilled from fermented grain mash and aged in wooden casks (generally oak).

And then Bourbon is an American form of whiskey named for Bourbon County, Kentucky. Created via Congressional legislation in 1964, the Federal Standards of Identity for Bourbon stipulate it must be:
  • Made in America.
  • Made of a grain mixture that is at least 51% corn[1]
  • Distilled to no more than 160 (U.S.) proof.
  • 100% natural (nothing other than water added to the mixture)
  • Aged in new American, charred oak barrels.[1] for a minimum of two years.

And now you know....
